Calling All Foodies

Steve & I love our food - English, Chinese, Indian, name it, we'll probably like it. Heck, you could even throw a McDonalds our way and we'd be grateful!

Something we've always talked about is going on a foodie break though - I think Man V Food may have a slight influence here- and I was extremely grateful to receive some information from the lovely Stephanie at Fire PR, telling me a little more about a food event that is happening in the not too distant future.

Unfortunately, Steve and I cannot make it - it would be quite a journey with a 4 month old baby and we just cannot spare the expense right now - but I thought I'd post the information up on my blog for you all to take a look at, as I know plenty of you are foodies like me.

Isle of Wight; Michelin Chef, Robert Thompson, and The Garlic Farm are collaborating to offer an exclusive holiday package on the Isle of Wight this May.
The three-night deal will allow guests to experience the ever-popular foodie destination that is the Isle of Wight. During the break, guests will enjoy three nights in the five star luxury accommodation of The Hambrough with spectacular views of the sea, two delicious evening meals, the chance to explore The Garlic Farm and to walk through the largest Elephant garlic field this side of the Atlantic.
Situated in the heart of the countryside, The Garlic Farm is surrounded by amazing scenery and is steeped in fascinating history. Guests will be able to tour the farm, sample the farm’s produce in the on-site restaurant, follow Colin Boswell (the garlic farmer) on a taste tour of garlic from all over the world and even pick up some growing tips to take home!

In two mouth-watering evening meals, Chef Robert Thompson will create a selection of specially designed dishes that encompass just some of the fantastic local produce available on the island.
Chef Robert Thompson says: “What an opportunity to showcase one of my favourite local producers – sometimes you just feel like shouting at the top of your voice about sheer quality of these ingredients.”
Colin Boswell, owner of The Garlic Farm said: “We’re thrilled to be involved in this offer with Robert and The Hambrough – it gives visitors the chance to share our love of garlic and of course the Isle of Wight. We have a unique story to tell and we experience great pleasure in sharing this with others – especially through visits to our farm here on the Island.”
This offer is available from £606 per couple during May. Further details of the package, price and T&Cs can be found below.

Doesn't this sound fab? Making my stomach rumble just by thinking about it! A proper foodie break, the price includes all of this:
· Full cooked Michelin Star breakfast each morning
· One Morning tour of The Garlic Farm with an informal talk and tasting
· Lunch at The Garlic Farm in Newchurch
· A goodie bag filled with an array of products from The Garlic Farm
· One evening dining at The Hambrough – The surprise 7 course tasting menu featuring The Garlic Farm’s asparagus and garlic
· One evening dining at The Pond CafĂ© in Bonchurch (The Hambrough’s sister restaurant)
· Complimentary Return ferry travel with Red Funnel, Wightlink or HoverTravel

Does this sound like your kind of thing? I really wish I could go, but alas, things happen.

Hope you're all having a fantastic Saturday and trying some great food!

I have received no compensation, monetary or otherwise, for this post. I simply thought this seemed like a great event for all the food lovers out there.
